Rapid Release Technology Review: Pro3+, ProAm & Traveler

Rapid Release Technology takes a different mechanical approach from conventional long-stroke percussion massagers. Its current lineup uses high-frequency, short-stroke orbital vibration, with three primary devices aimed at different users. This independent guide explains what the company sells, what the specifications mean, and where the evidence ends.

What Rapid Release sells

The current lineup consists of the Pro3+, ProAm and Traveler. At the time this site was built, the manufacturer listed them at $999, $599 and $299 respectively. The Pro3+ is positioned toward professional use, the ProAm toward active consumers, and the Traveler around portability.

The key difference: vibration, not conventional percussion

Rapid Release says its devices operate from roughly 4,000 to 10,000 vibrations per minute with a short stroke. That makes the buying question less about which 'massage gun' is strongest and more about whether you prefer high-frequency, short-stroke vibration or slower, deeper percussion.

What research can — and cannot — tell us

Research on handheld massage guns suggests possible short-term benefits for range of motion, flexibility and some recovery-related outcomes, but the evidence base is limited and protocols vary. Those findings should not be treated as proof of a specific outcome from Rapid Release devices, which were not the subject of the systematic review we reference.

Who should consider each model

The Traveler is the simplest entry point for portability. The ProAm adds a broader 6,000–9,000 VPM range for active users. The Pro3+ is the flagship, around 10,000 VPM, and is marketed heavily toward professionals. Your choice should be based on use case, budget and preference rather than unsupported medical promises.

Bottom line

Rapid Release is most interesting for shoppers specifically looking beyond conventional deep-percussion devices. The lineup is easy to understand, but the premium pricing makes model selection important. Compare the three models before buying.
